14 days ago, a comet ripped across the sky, unleashing the disaster now known as the Grayfall. Within hours, parasitic spores called Gray Matters transformed people into savage monsters known as Spikers, collapsing society overnight. Governments sealed off infected cities, buried the truth, and left the outbreak zones to rot. 16-year-old influencer Mai, refusing to believe the official story, breaks into Central Hospital—the outbreak’s ground zero—with her AI cobot, BooBoo. Inside, fear spreads faster than the infection as survivors turn on each other. After rescuing a little girl named Anna, Mai fights to escape a hospital overrun by Spikers. Her path collides with Ren Cade, a ruthless black-ops commander hunting her, while Dr. Theodore secretly pulls the strings from mission control. But Theodore has one more ace up his sleeve: Ares, a genetically engineered killing machine built for one job—and one job only: to take Mai down.
