Overview

In Hamburg, artist Christoph Faulhaber restages The Phantom of the Opera in front of the Rote Flora, a building occupied after plans to turn the former Flora Theatre into a musical venue were resisted. The film follows the performance and its preparation while connecting the site’s history to gentrification, protest culture, public space, power and freedom.
