That's Not Art
0.0/10
Overview
The inspiration for this silent short film came out of an interest in unintentional art spawned from shapes and figures created by those covering graffiti / street art. The catalyst to film this short was a belligerent Cabbagetown resident, in Atlanta, who was encountered while filming ‘places in pieces vol. 3’. During that encounter, the resident made baseless accusations, threatened cyclists wearing backpacks, and ranted about graffiti while painting blotches over the street art he deemed unfit for his neighborhood. At one point in his ranting, he gestured at a graffitied wall and yelled “that’s not art!” Through framing, layering, and pacing, ‘That’s Not Art’ silently asks its viewers to reimagine the world around them.
