Overview

In 1866, eight French nuns arrived in St. Augustine, Florida, with a simple mission: go wherever they were needed. For the next 160 years, the Sisters of St. Joseph would educate children others refused to teach, confront prejudice and segregation, care for the sick, and quietly shape generations of lives. Now, their numbers are disappearing and the future of the land they've called home for more than a century is uncertain.
