"Torn between the future he's building and the youth he's afraid to lose, a young graduate spends one night trying to hold both worlds together, as work and his best friend's farewell fall on the same night."
Absence follows Marcus, a hardworking young graduate who has become increasingly consumed by his career. After turning down a day out with his friend James because of work, Marcus promises that he will make it to James' farewell drinks that evening before James leaves for Spain. When Marcus is pressured into staying late at the office, the night begins slipping away from him. By the time he finally leaves, he is forced to rush across the city in an attempt to reach James before the night is over. His journey forces him to confront the balance between the future he is working towards and the relationships and experiences he may be leaving behind.
