"The Corncrake Project"

Overview

On Ireland’s rugged west coast, a rare call cuts through the summer night: a corncrake has returned. For those who have grown up with its rasping cry, this is more than the return of a bird. It is the sound of home, of childhood summers and a living connection to a landscape shaped by generations. But that familiar voice is disappearing, and with it, a piece of who these communities are. In Answering the Call, communities of farmers, locals and naturalists unite in a race to save what few corncrake remain. As the community rallies to answer the call, one question becomes impossible to ignore: if they fail to act now, will they be the last generation to hear this extraordinary sound?
